The Role:
The Project Director will co-ordinate a SCADA installation at London Underground. As an experienced candidate you will be able to:-

Lead the execution of large, complex projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with company policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. the role will be to support the Local Division and Business Unit Managers in overseeing team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution.

Main Accountabilities:
Project leadership - Lead the project team, establishes the project execution approach and oversees project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.

Instructions and guidelines - Contributes to the continuous improvement of policies and work instructions by adopting external “best practices” and findings from lessons learned.
Lead project reviews for other large projects and Organisational Project Management (OPM) reviews/assessments. Conduct competency assessments for the project execution teams on behalf of the Local Division. Actively seeks both internal improvement opportunities and external project management practices. Actively participate in and contributes to internal and external expert groups, e.g. project management councils and other forums.

Project recovery - Leads project recovery efforts, i.e. the rapid assessment of troubled projects and their turnaround.

Budget, sales and operations - Participates in the budgeting process. Participates in Sales and Operations Planning with members of the Business Unit/Product Group Management.

Project execution and control - Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilisation. Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow, tracking the achievement of financial target continuously. Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued.
Captures, analyzes and shares lessons learned throughout the project.
Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.

Planning and scheduling - Ensure that all planning activities (including scope and financial plans, schedules and risk management plans) are performed properly by the assigned project team(s).

Contract, claims and procurement management - Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management. Ensure that required procurement activities for services, materials and
equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers are performed by the assigned resources.

Stakeholder relations - Acts as key contact for the customer and escalation point for project issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.

Health, safety and environment (HSE) - Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

People leadership and development - Develop project execution staff through formal and informal mentoring and coaching within the Local Division. Career Level Definition Competencies

The role is based in the UK, must be eligible to work in the UK

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Worked at Project Director level
Experience of Scada installation
