Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Strong field presence and safety interventions
• Utilize Fit-for-Purpose approach in application of Capital Project Work Process and Project Phase Deliverables, basis project size/complexity/risk
• Assure proper Engineering Standards are applied in project design and execution
• Develop strong working relationships through all levels of the organization, locally and with corporate Stakeholders
• Demonstrate strong communication and engagement skills, locally with site leadership and externally with corporate project challenge sessions
• Assure project delivery is aligned with other site work processes including MOC, ESP, Training and Procedures
• Ownership of, and accountability for, all assigned project electrical estimates, schedules, and outcomes. This is regardless of who originates, checks, updates, communicates, or executes the work. Therefore, the Project Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical estimates, plans, schedules, and for any proposed changes or deviations. He/she must be the champion of responsive customer support, reliability, and a No change mindset on his/her assigned projects.
Requirements:
• Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum ten (10) years experience in a project electrical engineering support role in a refinery or petrochemical industry; previous maintenance experience desirable.
• Hands on experience supporting project startup and delivery with the Project Work Process
• Experience leading/facilitating MOC’s in a project delivery process
• Experience with design, specification, and procuring of electrical equipment and systems.
• Competence in application of industry standards and practices to all aspects of electrical power distribution and process electrical installations
• Competent with application and understanding of relevant standards: IEEE; API; NEMA, NFPA, NEC
• Proven ‘Safety-by-Design’ experience in the petroleum refining industries, particularly as it relates to arc flash hazard mitigation and hazardous area classification.
• Knowledge of HV substation and HV transmission design and operation
• A practical working knowledge of refinery/petrochemical processes, process equipment and general project procedures, preferred
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-discipline team environment consisting of Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, and Operations in order to manage the execution of the detailed electrical engineering
