The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Optical Quality (Visual Quality) Process Leader Leadership of the Optical Quality Process to facilitate delivery of a vehicle meeting its visual quality targets.

This includes:
Organising and running daily Optical Quality review meetings
Leading the resolution of Optical Quality issues by liaising with personnel involved in above meetings and / or giving advice on engineering solutions for improved visual quality. Arbitrating where conflict exists and escalating issues that require senior involvement to resolve or buy-off.
Regular reporting of programme Optical Quality status
Specification of adjustable models to assist with buy-off of engineering.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be likely to have:
History of successful delivery within the automotive sector
Experience of working within Vehicle Body Engineering
Experience of plant based assembly and manufacturing problems.
Knowledge of Vehicle Body Engineering systems and components incl: engineering design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements
Knowledge of manufacturing / tolerancing and manufacturing process variation / process capability and how to improve this and / or improve the visual impact of this.
Confidence to chair meetings and Project Management experience Strong analytical skills
Ability to lead the resolution of technical issues within a team environment Ability to interrogate CAD using Vis Mock-up and Digital Buck / Note - Not necessarily a CAD Engineer
PC Literate, particularly in Microsoft Office: Excel, Powerpoint & Word
Candidates will hold a valid UK Drivers licence
Educated to a minimum of degree level in Mechanical

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Working knowledge of JLR (or Ford) project delivery process
JLR PCS (or GPDS) - would be beneficial
