The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Automatic Transmissions, Mechanical Design & Development Lead Engineers.

Responsibilities & Tasks: -
Required to manage programme delivery requirements and define test requirements ultimately delivering programmes to Engineering sign-off for Auto Transmission Mechanical system.
Lead resolution of technical design issues as they arise.
Liaise with component suppliers, workshops and supporting areas to plan & deliver design and test requirements to meet programme milestones

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* 3 years proven experience in automotive mechanical component delivery.
* Component design and/or design validation testing to support engineering sign off requirements.
* An HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
* Ability to manage multiple design or test activities & engineering work streams in parallel.
* Excellent communication and supplier liaison skills.
* Good PC skills including Microsoft Office and MSProject
* Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, (Degree preferred but not essential).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Good experience of Powertrain systems
* Good understanding of transmission related component function/design
* Knowledge of OEM/major supplier project delivery processes would be desirable.
* Good problem solving techniques (ideally formal 5D, 8D of six sigma DMAIC process understanding)
* Experience in accelerated vehicle & component rig testing (including test preparation)
* Knowledge of Automatic transmission (preferred but not essential) and/or design of transmission rig and vehicle testing.
* Knowledge of AIMs (Automated Issues Management) system.
* Knowledge of GPDS delivery process.
* Knowledge of Ford eFDVs DVP delivery system
* Full driving license
