The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Training & Development Leader

The training and development manager is to deliver a plan, framework, material and delivery of the training along with the co-ordination, progress tracking and recording in order to ensure that Powertrain Test Operations Engine Test, and subsequent, consolidation activities are a success. Hourly Paid and Salaried team member competencies are to be effectively developed and recorded in order to enable the Powertrain productive output targets to be met.

The aim is to support functional development of Powertrain Test Operations team members; the role specifically deals with the training and evaluation in the job of work. All elements of training for existing team members and new starter will be supported. You'll bring passion and flexibility to this role, and your leadership style will motivate and inspire our team. A comprehensive understanding of powertrain products, test processes and facility is ideal, as is an advanced knowledge of a systems approach to training and development. You must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and have an aptitude for making use of management information systems, i.e. SharePoint, Google. You'll be at an advantage if you have certification in Continuous Improvement, Lean and Kaizen practices. A detailed knowledge of delivering to meet the requirements of TS16949, ISO14001, ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and OHSAS18001 would be beneficial. Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a 'passion for the product', self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision are personal qualities needed to succeed in this role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Track and report training requirements.
* Able to conduct training needs analysis for a large population with widely varying skills requirements and levels.
* Able to develop and deliver training material to support the in plant activity of existing team members and New Starters.
* Lead the delivery and population of an improved Skills Matrix system.
* Able to deliver technical and behavioural training packages.
* Collate and understand training deficiencies and implement appropriate action to abridge any gaps
* Deliver and track progress against training delivery plan.
* Provide support to co-ordinate offsite functional/specialist training identified and agreed.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, ECDL is preferred.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Ability to deliver and update a website using Share Point or similar application.
* An understanding and experience of human factors.
* An understanding of human behaviour based Model for successful implementation of Lean enterprise in industry.
