The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Emission Test team is part of Powertrain Test operations and Product Development. The team delivers development and certification test capability to Powertrain Calibration and Certification departments at Whitley and Gaydon. The team's primary function is to deliver engineering development and certification testing to drive the design and control technology in order to meet required vehicle level targets. The roles have been agreed to support the increase in workflow as a result of the success and growth in market reach and the growing product diversity. The team works extensively with a wide range calibration and certification team members who place high demands in terms of quality and reliability on the of test facility output. We need to increase our facility utilisation as we move to 24/7 operation and ensure that we have the facility capability and capacity to meet demands of our future plans. The planning and project delivery role is essential in achieving full utilisation of our internal capability and in minimising and managing our outsource requirements.

The job role is: To provide, deliver and work to a process for managing long and medium term planning and to identify and deliver efficiency projects in order to define and improve internal facility capacity, define future requirements, reduce costs to the business and to achieve 100% data quality at 100% utilisation. The aim is to ensure that programme requirements can be met with minimum resource. The facility runs 24hrs/day, 5 days per week; the team works with pride and passion to ensure that the capabilities of the support systems have the functionality and robustness required to meet the demand.

This role will require the successful candidate to work at Gaydon and Whitley and on occasions travel between sites during the day.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* An understanding of safe working practices in the associated work place environments.
* Ability to deliver project co-ordination, planning and control
* Ability to deliver written technical reports and presentations
* Practical ability to deliver process maps and value stream maps.
* Practical ability to define and deliver commissioned projects to a specification.
* Technical/Theoretical understanding of Emission Test facility and requirements.
* Data Analysis skills, including ability to define and measure symptoms and analyse information.
* Ability to make use of data gathered to define solution and implement process improvement.
* Confidence to take ownership, prioritise and follow up on short term decisions.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, ECDL is preferred; including advanced level of skills in Excel and Visual Basic.
* Qualification: Ideally educated to Degree level in an Engineering or related discipline; as a minimum a HNC is requi

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* An understanding of internal combustion engines, transmission, driveline, emission systems and subsystems
* An understanding of test quality data and analysis, preparation of calibration documentation in support of Certification activities
* An understanding of the regulatory and legislative requirements of external agencies and organisations.
* Ability to deliver and update a web-site using Share Point or similar application.
* An understanding of human behaviour based Model for successful implementation of Lean enterprise in industry.
* Working on and delivering small and large scale projects.
* Measurement uncertainty and uncertainty budget calculation.
* Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification Matlab Minitab Web based and client application development
