The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powertrain PVT VRT Engineer

You will work as part of a team that is responsible for managing and delivering for all vehicles produced on the site the Powertrain portion of the current vehicle quality targets. The role involves providing technical support to Manufacturing and Product Investigation as required, analysing available quality data (warranty, survey results etc.) to identify issues and pursue those issue through to resolution through appropriate action either in Manufacturing, at the supplier or via engineering design change.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates will need to demonstrate -
* At least 5 years experience in a Powertrain Engineering Design/Development function
* Strong technical knowledge and experience of working in a vehicle powertrain Design or Development environment that was responsible for either engines, transmission & driveline or integration (fuel, cooling intake exhaust).
* A good knowledge of problem solving methods & tools and be able to demonstrate they have applied them effectively.
* Must be highly proficient in using standard business software (Excel, Powerpoint etc).
* Must be capable of working with warranty and other data to produce accurate analysis of issues and trends.
* They are strong team players and are able to interact confidently and effectively with others at all levels within the organisation
* Candidates must be qualified to at least HND level in Engineering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* CAD skills and previous experience working with JLR systems would be an advantage.
* Experience working in a current quality environment dealing with in field failure investigation would be an advantage.
* An engineering degree would be desirable
* 6 Sigma qualified or trained.
