The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing aftermarket tyres from initial PDL through to dynamics sign off.

Key Responsibilities: -
* Work closely with aftermarket global wheel and tyre team to understand individual market requirements worldwide.
* Market homologation for tyre to be supported.
* Ensure tyres are officially released through WERS process with a drawing and part number.
* To support component Module Technical Teams to ensure that project build and gateway requirements are achieved on time.
* Use of JLR processes including WERS releasing, AIM, APQP, GPDS, FMEA, DVP&R, eFDVS & RMDV
* Liaise with Tyre Lead for program and dynamics to ensure test cars and tyres from suppliers are available.
* Creating and evaluating engineering sign-off plans, development plans, design specifications and drawings as appropriate.
* Liaising with suppliers and cross functional teams (Design, Purchase, Manufacturing and Quality) to define targets and ensure that components perform to requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Development and delivery process used within the automotive industry
* Project management experience
* Knowledge and or an understanding of tyre performance and design
* Training for internal systems will be provided
* Ability to develop engineering solutions which meet defined targets.
* Ability to evaluate the performance and merits of designs from suppliers or service partners to ensure that requirements are satisfied.
* Self motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision.
* Good team working, organisation and communication skills, able to foster good working relationships with Purchasing/ STA/Vehicle Dynamics and tyre suppliers.
* Full driving licence.
* Good PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications
* Degree preferred
