The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
A research Engineer responsible for the identification and development of new exhaust system technologies. The Engineer will be resonsible for monitoring future exhayst system technologies developing and leading new exhaust system research projects in conjunction with the current exhausts and NVH teams and identifying suitable external partners to assist in completing this work. The successful applicant will join a growing team of motivated and enthusiastic powertrain systems research Engineers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience of the specification and design of automotive exhaust systems
* Experience of vehicle NVH requirements
* Delivery of complex technology projects, including planning / timing / budget
* Highly motivated with excellent team working skills and able to deliver with minimum supervision
* Good understanding of exhaust system technology (hot end and cold end), design considerations and manufacturing / process requirements
* Understanding of exhaust system NVH considerations
* Ability to screen new technologies and innovatively apply them to automotive powertrain applications
* Educated to degree level in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Proven relevant experimental capability (exhaust system and/or vehicle test)
* NVH analysis experience eg: WAVE / GT Suite
* Experience of exhaust system manufacturing / process
* Experience of product/technology development processes to ensure robust implementation through to production
* Experience of working in a multi*disciplinary organisation with interaction across many departments
* Educated to higher degree level in Automotive Engineering or a related discipline
