The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Joining the St Neots engineering team in the Oil & Gas process control business as a Project Engineer, but being responsible for the technical liaison with the client in Baku on behalf of the projects being managed from St Neots. This role will/can potentially involve extensive international secondment and travel, on 4/4 rotation in Baku.


• Interfacing with the project teams in St Neots, the engineers in Baku and the client’s engineers in Azerbaijan and the UK. The role is to lead projects and provide the technical interface for projects. Thus ensuring accuracy of quotations and engineering design and implementation.
• Lead a team of engineers in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of the integrated control systems. Bringing system knowledge to the client and company teams.
• Ensure that the engineered solution is compliant with company practices and procedures.
• Identify scope changes to the project manager and to assist in detailing the impact of such changes in terms of cost and schedule.
• Interface technically with the client to optimise the system design.
• Co-ordinate the resolution of technical queries.
• Manage the engineering resources required and assign work to the team members such that the project is completed timely and cost effectively.
• Develop engineering estimates against specifications for bids received from potential clients.
• Assist with technical sales presentations, bid estimation & clarifications.
• Mentor team members in procedures and standards ensuring that common solutions and practices are implemented.
• To identify opportunities to improve standards and procedures to saves costs or time

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent in a Chemical/Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline, Chartered Engineer would be desirable.
• Full driving license.
• Flexible working hours and the ability to travel
• Eligible to work in the UK, and Baku.
• Proven experience in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of integrated control systems in the oil and gas or pharmaceutical industries. AC450, Safeguard and 800xA systems knowledge. Experience in the Caspian region.
• Experienced at working on both national and international projects.
• Experienced at reporting into planning systems such as Microsoft project and primavera.
• Experienced at leading a team of engineers.
• Familiar with current national and international engineering standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
