The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
To Develop and Deliver interface proposals for the projects being carried out within the Research Department. To include creation/management of creation of any necessary virtual or physical demonstrators and organisation of any user studies required to select and/or validate proposals. To provide expertise on Human Factors and to take responsibility for completion of associated TCDS deliverables. To manage the human factors implications of milestone projects within the Research Department. To provide support to the mainstream departments and attribute teams in the handover of projects post . To provide continuous benchmarking of solutions to support Mega Project focus. This role will work within the Research Team reporting directly to the HMI Technical Specialist and coordinating with the various research teams and the other human factors specialists from within Research and the wider product development community.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of the human factors implications for Human Machine Interface design is essential. An understanding of the issues relating to the use of these technologies within the vehicle is essential as well as experience in developing interface proposals from initial concept & principles into a final product. Good project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are required as well as the ability to produce clear technical documentation is also required. Experience of working in the automotive industry or similar within a research or advanced product development environment is desirable but not essential. Educated to degree level or higher in a related discipline (Human Machine Interface, Human Factors / Ergonomics / Psychology).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Computer literate, enthusiastic, forward looking, lateral thinker with proven creative, research and innovation skills in the field of technology. Familiarity with premium automotive sector, products and features and technology used in the HMI area. Masters / PhD desirable but not essential.
