The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As part of an established, motivated and fast moving team, the successful candidate would work in the Base Engine Design Integration Team to ensure compatibility of the engine to the Engine Manufacturing Process via the Assembly SET (Simultaneous Engineering Team), management and delivery of tooling to support prototype build phases, ownership of FMEA wrt to Engine Assembly deliverables The delivery scale ranges from X1 Development phase and continues through to the launch phases. Keys areas of responsibility: Facilitator for progression of issue resolution between Engine D&R group and Powertrain Manufacturing Group; Maintenance, management of tooling design for prototype build phases with off-site resource; Escalation of issues to Engine Design Review forums, assisting D&R groups in delivering resolution to issues; Ensure that the wider team are fully briefed on incoming issues and status

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Automotive engineering experience with a strong knowledge of engines. Excellent communication and language skills, both in meeting forums and via electronic media. PC skills including MS Office applications (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel and Word etc.). Experience of engine assembly and general tooling design. Ability to use Vis Mockup (Digital Buck) to review design models in context and help in issue resolution. CATIA V5 design capability beneficial, but not essential
Experience of component and system design, with an understanding of engine components and requirements. Strong understanding and application of design quality tools such as DFMEA, Robustness Studies etc. Strong awareness of manufacturing processes associated with engine components and engine assembly. Working knowledge of product delivery systems (AIM (Automated Issues Management), PCS (Product Creation System) and RMDV systems) would be an advantage
