The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Manage the tier 1 supplier in the development of the xEV (PHEV, HEV or MHEV) battery system according to programme technical, cost and timing targets. Lead the requirements definition for the battery, providing the link between our client and the supplier to ensure technical feasibility. Develop the project plan for the battery, ensuring HW and SW are released, ordered and delivered on time. Lead the completion of quality documentations, including boundary diagram, FMEA, quality history reviews, robustness checklist. Manage the completion of hazard analysis and functional safety analysis. Provide technical input to the development of the battery package within the vehicle. Develop and agree manufacturing and service strategies with our clients manufacturing and service functions. Report out project status to project leaders and senior management at key milestones. Plan and deliver the DV and PV tests needed to validate the product. Lead the investigation of issues and take responsibility for the progress of the team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Thorough understanding of automotive project management (e.g. GPDS, PCDS or other project management tool set).
2. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
3. Ability to lead a small team of engineers and previous experience of working within a cross functional team.

- Experience in automotive component engineering (Automotive OEM or Tier1)
- Requirements capture and management using IBM DOORS or eFDVS
- Experience in project management for component delivery (GPDS, PCDS, and WERS)
- Supplier management
- Six Sigma/Root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D etc.)
- Engineering or Science degree or significant relevant experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Understanding of HV components, Li-ion cells or other battery technology is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with system development tools (CANalyzer, Diagnostic tools etc.)
- Experience of designing HV components

Additional Information:
