The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Project Engineer for Body Engineering Cost management group
To provide data to the Body Engineering Senior Management team to assist in future strategy decisions relative to costs
To utilise system tools to ensure that the departmental system and commodity costs and commonality strategies reflect the latest level of data maturity
To analyse data and expose gaps in data alignment across systems
To help develop the process to ensure consistent reporting of cost control metrics across Body Engineering
To help develop the `should cost & `could cost models for all Body Engineering systems and commodities
To work cross-functionally, eg with AME, Purchase, Cost Engineering & Finance, to ensure all Body Engineering cost control models are understood

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering knowledge of Body Engineering system design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
Proven Project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
Excellent communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels
PC Literacy in Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
Successful history of project management delivery
Ideally degree educated

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent numercial skills and ability to clearly summarise large amounts of complex data
Knowledge of BoM (Bill of Material) and WERS releasing system
Familiarisation of Body Engineering systems and commodities
Experience of cross functional working
High energy levels and determination to succeed regardless of the roadblocks encountered
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, specifically Excel
An ability to work to tight deadlines with often conflicting demands
An appreciation of the lean toolset
Ideally within the automotive sector or adjacent industries, eg rail, aerospace, defence, energy etc History of cost saving delivery
