The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
A diverse Project Engineering role responsible for the specification and delivery of vehicle rig properties for Body Engineering. The role has two main phases; planning and delivery, which are detailed below; Planning: Support the identification and compilation of all parts and vehicles required for engineering sign-off of Body Engineering components. Based on an understanding of the tests required and liaison with engineers, test engineers and supplier. Production of full exploded views. illustrations of parts from CAD (using associated visualisation tools such as Vis Mock-up / Digital Buck) for clarity in discussions with others Consolidating a full cost of these parts and assemblies, using a large matrix managed in MS Excel Identifying opportunities to reduce cost where necessary (including the development of unique, reduced cost, high level assembly specifications) Work in conjunction with Engineers, Purchasing, New Model Programmes, Logistics personnel and suppliers, Arrange and attend meetings as necessary, to ensure requirements are understood, Own and agree with all parties the test plan, ensure correct parts are ordered and delivered according to this plan Identification of any unique packaging requirements Delivery: Working at pilot production plant with Manufacturing, New Model Programmes, Engineering and Logistics personnel to ensure properties are built to specification and transport is arranged appropriately. Ensuring timely delivery of parts and assemblies to end customers for further testing. "

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A valid UK driving licence and meet the medical requirements of JLR facilities
Computer literacy essential. Detailed knowledge of MS Office Excel is desired. PowerPoint & Word skills are required but to a smaller degree. Knowledge and practical experience of 3D CAD / VisMockup / Digibuck to view, manipulate and display parts in an assembly. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self-confidence and self-motivated to deliver with minimum supervision. Ability to lead planning activities with other departments. Ability to work within a team to resolve issues A 'passion for the product
Experience of programme or project management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery. Experience of working with vehicle Bills of Material and / or automotive manufacturing experience
Ideally educated to a minimum of degree level in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical subject.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Test / Development experience ideally within the automotive sector or adjacent industries, eg rail, aerospace, defence, energy etc
