The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Brakes Quality are responsible for resolving Brakes customer quality problems for all vehicles.
The work covers the definition, analysis, resolution, testing and the releasing of engineering change associated with the resolution of quality issues.
The team works closely with the other Brakes design and development teams, PLant Vehicle Teams, Manufacturing, Service and Suppliers.
The appointee will:
1) Identify and define Foundation Brakes and Controls quality problems from customer feedback and returns.
2) Lead the problem analysis for agreed issues, and lead the team in identification of potential solutions and their subsequent testing and validation.
3) Co-ordinate and plan the implementation of solutions with release departments, suppliers, manufacturing and Service.
4) Conduct brake refinement problem definition, testing and analysis.
5) Lead supplier quality improvement activities (e.g. QOS teams)
6) Provide Foundation Brakes and Controls technical expertise/advice to VRTs, Manufacturing, Service, etc..
7) Report project status at Quality reviews/forums

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Project Management
Experience of the application of statistical analysis and problem solving methodologies
Understanding of Automotive (Passenger Car or Commercial Vehicle) Chassis systems.
High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Good leadership and influencing skills.
Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure.
Good PC skills and must be IT literate particularly with respect to MS Office suite
UK Full driving licence (or equivalent)
Working with an Automotive OEM or large Tier 1 supplier in a product development role Project Management - with a strong track record of delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects under tight time pressure
Formal education in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a related discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of the application of 6-Sigma and 8D methodologies Understanding of Automotive (Passenger Car or Commercial Vehicle) Braking systems.
Clean UK Full driving licence.
Substantial experience in an automotive engineering or development environment
A working knowledge of engineering disciplines and understand and use key delivery systems (eFDVS, RMDV, WERS, AIMS, GPDS, PCS, APQP etc.)
HNC / HND, Degree in Automotive Engineering
