The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Chassis Product Efficiency Engineer - Compile and document new model technology ideas that contribute to Fuel Economy or CO2 improvement
- Champion innovation meetings and events to generate new ideas.
- Lead the presentation of these ideas through the various governance forums.
- Negotiate the introduction of approved technology developments into advanced engineering delivery programmes.
- Provide engineering support for creation of technology demonstrator vehicles from identification of prototype specifications through purchase, supply and build supervision

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Broad ranging mechanical and electrical engineering product development knowledge including appreciation of the factors influencing vehicle efficiency.
Technical documentation / authoring.
Subject researching from both written and inter-personal sources.
Very strong negotiation, enquiry and presentation skills.
Project management or co-ordination skills including results-driven self-management.
Usage of MS Office, web-based tools and similar applications to a high level suitable for communication and data management in a technical business environment.
Experience of engineering design for automotive Chassis systems.
HND in Engineering or similar

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
JLR product development internal processes such as AIMs, GPIRS.
Evaluation or computational optimisation of engineering concepts for energy efficiency
New model product development in a major OEM or 1st tier supplier. Usage of six-sigma or similar quality methods
Degree level qualification in Mechanical engineering or similar.
