The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Project leader will be responsible for the delivery of Quick Service Fixes and process improvements which address the quality issues identified by the team.
These resolution actions are required to be delivered in a timely manner in order to minimize customer dissatisfaction and minimize warranty costs to the business.
The role covers the definition, analysis, resolution, testing and the releasing of product and process changes.
In this task the Project Leader will work closely with the other Brakes teams, Plant Vehicle Team (PVT), Manufacturing, Service and Suppliers to:
Identify and define Foundation Brakes and Controls quality problems using AWS, GQRS,PAWS, JD Powers and other customer and technical sources and analysis
Conduct brake refinement problem definition, testing and analysis.
For agreed issues, lead the problem analysis and identification of potential solutions
For the preferred solutions lead the design / process change introduction and any associated testing and validation. In doing this the Project Leader will need to work with release departments, component suppliers, manufacturing and/or Service.
Lead supplier quality improvement activities e.g. Quality Operating System (QOS) teams
Provide Foundation Brakes and Controls technical expertise/advice to VRTs, Manufacturing, Service, etc..
Report project status at Quality reviews/forums

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Project Management
High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver complex solutions with minimal supervision.
Good leadership and influencing skills.
Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure.
Good PC skills MS Office suite and project planning tools as well as an ability to learn new specific analysis packages
Full UK driving licence (or equivalent) for Category B vehicles the candidate will need to travel between supplier, engineering and manufacturing locations.
Key Word Search Criteria: Automotive Product Development Project Management.
Substantial experience of Automotive Product Development (Minimum 10 years post-graduation) much of which is gained in a Chassis engineering area.
Minimum of 10 years Working with an Automotive OEM or large Tier 1 supplier in a product development role
Minimum of 4 years Project Management / Project leadership experience with a strong track record of delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects under t

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of the application of 6-Sigma and 8D methodologies
Understanding of Automotive (Passenger Car or Commercial Vehicle) Braking systems.
A working knowledge of engineering disciplines
Understanding of and use key delivery systems (eFDVS, RMDV, WERS, AIMS, GPDS, PCS, APQP etc.)
Track record managing programmes and of meeting PCS (or GPDS) deliverables
Six sigma Green belt certification
