The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The engineer in this role will be responsible for maintaining and updating existing standards and procedures and delivering new documents into the companys control system and ensure that they are cascaded in the appropriate way. This will in part require some measurement system or system technology advanced engineering. Interfacing with key stakeholders within Jaguar Land Rover team to deliver:
Conduct projects involving the application of new braking technologies, developing system requirements and test standards associated with these technologies.
Using market data derived from customer feedback, Warranty returns data and public domain surveys to develop new requirements for new and existing markets
Using lessons learnt from past programmes to develop new requirements to prevent reoccurrence of the same issues on new programmes
Develop new measurement methods for braking performance based on vehicle, rig and CAE analysis techniques
Write automated analysis routines in Excel or other applications in order to present data for new measurement methods
Write up and gain approval for new requirements and procedures and publish these on internal systems (S-Dots)
Create appropriate cascades for new requirements
Aid with issue management & resolution where new requirements are applied

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Comprehensive ability to work with MS Office applications and manage large numbers of records in different formats.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills able to confidently network with team members and present needs and requirements to senior management
Broad Knowledge of automotive braking systems and their application
Ability to write clear concise and robust descriptions and instructions using unambiguous engineering terms
Ability to write analysis programmes in Visual Basic or other suitable applications
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Full UK driving licence for Cat B vehicles

This is a role for an experienced (minimum 4 years post graduation) broad based engineer with a practical and dynamic working style. The individual will need to have the confidence to network among the extensive brakes team and to work at a senior level within the supplier organisations. This will be assessed at interview but should also be clearly demonstrated in the cand

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of related Chassis systems, such as suspension structures.
Knowledge of product development processes
Knowledge of the use of CAE techniques in an engineering context
Experience of the mechanical design of Brakes components
Post graduate qualification in an automotive engineering discipline
