The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Our team has "make to print" design and development responsibility for suspension components, dealing with all products from concept through detail design and into production.
Our Engineers take full ownership for delivering robust engineering to achieve all targets (dynamics, durability, weight, cost, delivery timing, etc).
This Lead Engineer role will be focused on Suspension Links for one of our new programmes. In this role, you will be hands-on with the detail design of suspension as well as investigating and fully understanding our benchmarks/competitors.
You will help drive our designs to be fully optimised and ensure that the team utilises the most appropriate technologies in order to achieve this.
Close interaction is required across all functions and suppliers will be required in order to achieve this

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels required plus a 'Can-do' attitude and a high level of commitment.
- Keen to take the lead, monitor and drive tasks through to completion.
- Attention to detail to collate accurate information and follow process-
- An understanding of basic chassis system performance requirements e.g. Durability & Reliabilty, K&C, NVH etc
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DMAIC problem solving, derivation of timing plans. - MS Office literate.
Proven detail engineering design experience for castings and/or forgings
- Experience of working within design engineering delivery environment (an OEM is a benefit)
- Supplier management; delivery against commitments, hold timings and cost
- Ability to monitor and deliver multiple tasks to agreed standards and timescales (e.g. University projects, design projects in industry)
- Proven experience of delivering tasks to achieve robust solutions and fulfill programme/b

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of processes and metrics (WERS, PACN, etc) will be an advantage.
