The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Liaise with Brakes design and development teams to develop test plans which support programme requirements. Liaise with vehicle fleet providers, workshops, instrumentation, component and system engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure that vehicles are prepared and shipped in time to support scheduled test and development commitments. Support test teams who work in the UK and overseas by co-ordinating workshop activities and spare parts provision Liaise with Brakes logistics team to ensure that the appropriate parts and components are shipped to the appropriate location to support test and development activities The Support Engineer will need to work with a number of standard and JLR specific software applications to ensure that plans are developed, test are authorised, transport is booked and vehicles and components are available at the correct location to support test schedules. In this role the successful candidate will be well placed to develop their skills and knowledge of vehicle engineering, placing them in a strong position to later develop their career into one of the engineering design or test teams.

Skills Required:
A strong ""team player"" Good verbal and written communication skills Good organisational skills Strong IT literacy to manage e-mail and JLR planning, internal ordering & fleet management systems Ability to focus on prolonged administrative tasks in order to meet timing constraints for the development of timing plans, compilation of spare parts requirements and filing of test, travel and transport requests. Good knowledge of automotive components & systems Knowledge of the processes involved in product development Clean UK driving licence for Category B vehicles Be physically fit as some manual handling and lifting will be required Ability to work within Health and Safety Risk Assessments making appropriate use of PPE and Lifting and Carrying equipment as appropriate Key Word Search Criteria Automotive Engineering

Experience Required:
Automotive engineering Vehicle service, repair and preparation Project Planning
This position will suit a recent graduate with limited industrial experience however the candidate will need to demonstrate significant practical automotive engineering experience which may have been gained through pre-graduation industrial placements or extra-curricular interests.

Education Required:
Degree in Automotive Engineering or similar

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Skills Preferred:
UK Driving licence for categories BE and C1

Experience Preferred:
Experience in a vehicle workshop repairing building or preparing vehicles Experience of Project Planning which may have been gained in an industrial or academic environment

Education Preferred:
Automotive mechanics / Vehicle maintenance Project Planning

Additional Information :
Some outdoor work will be required Activities will be largely on the Gaydon site - but will spread over a number of buildings Some inter-site travel between JLR and supplier sites will be required occasional travel to test sites in UK and overseas may be required in order to provide local support to test teams.
