The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
A Suspension Structures Project Engineer will have direct responsibility for design and delivery of Links team components.

Key requirement of job role
1. Agree component/system targets (stiffness, strength, etc.) with CAE team and attribute areas.
2. Develop component CAD with CAD designers within available package to meet component targets for function, cost and weight.
3. Work with purchase team to manage supplier nomination process.
4. Manage supplier delivery of components to agreed cost, timing and quality targets.
5. Achieve all program milestone engineering deliverables.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Automotive engineering design/development Track record of successful project management and on time delivery
* Proven ability to deliver; define a plan, monitor progress, exceed customer expectations
* Ability to negotiate and influence other areas effectively to achieve the best outcome for the business
* Highly effective communication and team working skills across a range of functions/forums
* Proven problem solving skills - use of DMAIC tools preferable
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, PowerPoint etc.
* HNC/D or equivalent automotive experience in the above field

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Design experience of cast and/forged aluminium and steel components - preferred
* Experience of Programme Management tools/Product Creation System (PCS) - preferred
* Current use of WERS, AIMS and other engineering delivery systems - preferred
* Working knowledge of Failure Mode Avoidance Quality tools - preferred
* Appropriate industry relevant Degree
