The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Liaise with Brakes development teams to develop and deliver vehicle and CAE test plans which support programme requirements. Liaise with vehicle fleet providers, workshops, instrumentation, component and system engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure that vehicles and CAE models are prepared in time to support scheduled test and development commitments. Support test teams who work in the UK and overseas by co-ordinating workshop activities and spare parts provision Liaise with Brakes logistics team to ensure that the appropriate parts and components are shipped to the appropriate location to support test and development activities Liaise with other engineering areas to ensure that CAE models are available to support virtual test activities The Support Engineer will need to work with a number of standard and JLR specific software applications to ensure that plans are developed, tests are authorised, transport is booked, vehicles, components and models are available at the correct location to support physical and virtual test schedules. In this role the successful candidate will be well placed to develop their skills and knowledge of vehicle engineering, placing them in a strong position to later develop their career into one of the engineering design or development teams.


Essential Experience & Qualifications:
A strong ""team player"" Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision. Good verbal and written communication skills Project management skills - demonstrated by a track record of planning and delivering projects either in an academic or industrial context Understanding of automotive chassis systems such as suspension structures. Strong IT literacy to manage e-mail and JLR planning, internal ordering & fleet management systems Ability to focus on prolonged administrative tasks in order to meet timing constraints for the development of timing plans, compilation of spare parts requirements and filing of test, travel and transport requests. Knowledge of the processes involved in product development Clean UK driving licence for Category B vehicles Ability to work within Health and Safety Risk Assessments making appropriate use of PPE and Lifting and Carrying equipment as appropriate Key Word Search Criteria Automotive Engineering
Automotive engineering Basic knowledge of brakes theory, brakes component characteristics, ABS system, brakes performances and other Chassis systems. Knowledge of analysis/simulation tools, such as: AMEsim, MATLAB/Simulink, Simpack, Abaqus and etc,
Degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or similar

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
Simulink / Mat Lab / Multi body dynamics modelling experience UK Driving licence for categories BE and C1
Experience involved in braking system design and delivery of target achievement within the Automotive sector
Good working knowledge of brakes theory, brakes component characteristics, ABS system, brakes performances and other Chassis systems. Experience with analysis/simulation tools, such as: AMEsim, MATLAB/Simulink, Simpack, Abaqus and etc,
