The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing wheel design from concept to production: To support component Module Teams to ensure that project build and gateway requirements are achieved on time. Manage component WERS releasing. Facilitate problem resolution and champion wheel owned AIMs. Support the creation of technical specifications, development plans etc. Creating and evaluating engineering sign-off plans, development plans, design specifications and drawings as appropriate. Liaising with suppliers and the client's cross functional teams to define targets and ensure that components perform to requirements. Apply quality methods and tools to component delivery e.g. FMEA. Reporting key issues to both the Chassis & programme management teams. Use a structured approach to resolving issues, ensuring that the resources of the Module Technical Team are effectively engaged.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally, use of processes including WERS releasing, AIM, APQP, PCDS, FMEA, DVP&R & RMDV. Ability to develop engineering solutions which meet defined targets. Ability to evaluate the performance and merits of designs from suppliers or service partners to ensure that requirements are satisfied. Self motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision. Good team working, organisation and communication skills, able to foster good working relationships with Purchasing/ STA and suppliers. Full driving licence. Good PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Must be flexible with regard to multi site working and be prepared to travel abroad if required. Good presentation skills to represent wheel group within the project/program and senior review forums. Component delivery within the automotive industry

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Wheel design, development and delivery within the automotive industry. Good knowledge and understanding of low pressure die casting. Engineering Degree preferred.
