The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Pipes and Hoses Engineer will work with the component delivery Lead Engineers to deliver the technical and gateway deliverables on the allocated vehicle programme or platform.

Supporting Lead Engineers, the candidate will initially contribute towards programme delivery. i.e:
Technical specifications for the component
Supplier sourcing
Manage supplier relationship to ensure on-time component programme delivery
Design and Development plans
i.e. Component commodity plans & Design Verification Plans
Management of parts supply for prototype and pre-production builds
Component launch into volume production
Client management & Supplier programme status reporting
Issue management & resolution
Engineering design release
Delivery of component PPAP
Design build confirmation
Build issue problem definition
Countermeasure definition
Countermeasure deployment

Ultimately the candidate will develop to take the above responsibilities in full -

n.b. The role is based in Warwickshire but will involve travel to suppliers and client manufacturing sites mostly within the UK.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Proven multi-disciplinary technical team leadership
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of automotive chassis systems.
Comprehensive ability to work with MS Office applications and manage large numbers of records in different formats.
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Full UK driving licence for Cat B vehicles
Minimum 2 years post-graduation industrial experience in a mechanical or automotive engineering environment.
Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering (2:1 or higher)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of related Chassis/vehicle systems.
Knowledge of the use of CAE techniques in an engineering context
Knowledge of the 6-Sigma process "
Experience of the mechanical design of Chassis components & Systems
