The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing the releases of steering system components and software: Ensure that project build and gateway requirements are achieved on time. Progressing component and software releases. Manage component releasing and problem resolution in close co-operation with the component supplier. Evaluating engineering sign-off plans, development plans, design specifications and drawings Liaising with suppliers and cross functional teams to define targets and ensure that components perform to requirements. Ensure the application of quality methods and tools to system delivery e.g. FMEA.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills; Ability to project manage and develop engineering solutions which meet defined targets. Ability to run component delivery processes using client's processes including WERS releasing, AIM, APQP, GPDS, FMEA, DVP&R, eFDVS & RMDV Self-motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision. Self-motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision.Ability to project manage and develop engineering solutions which meet defined targets. Ability to evaluate the performance and merits of designs from suppliers or service partners to ensure that requirements are satisfied. Good team working, organisation and communication skills, able to foster good working relationships with Purchasing/ STA and suppliers. Good PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Must be flexible with regard to multi site working and be prepared to travel abroad if required, full driving licence.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Working knowledge of chassis or Steering systems. Experience of software or electro-mechanical systems. Recognised advanced driver training qualifications. Ability to use CAD and virtual build visualisation tools. Degree preferred.
