The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
You will be responsible for the design and development of CMS components on a given programme(s) from concept into production. This includes ensuring your components achieve their targets for component/system cost, weight, and function and reporting the status against those targets into the programme team. You are also responsible for, ensuring the components are delivered in a timely manner, to meet all the relevant gateways, builds and programme requirements, and making the design and tooling releases to suppliers. To deliver the above you will be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the team, which includes representatives from engineering (CAD, rig and vehicle test), purchasing, manufacturing, our key internal customers and the suppliers. You will also be the first point of contact for all issues relating to components for their programme(s) and are ultimately responsible for ensuring engineering sign-off is achieved for their programme. In addition, the Project Engineer is involved in improving and building our team capabilities and processes to help us deliver the most robust and efficient designs possible. This extends to Becoming Our Best projects, Quality and TVM tasks where appropriate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills; Candidate with experience - Experience of component design to deliver performance attributes (durability, stiffness, weight, cost) Graduate - Demonstrable interest in cars/automotive products - e.g. Formula Student, summer jobs relating to cars/bikes, etc. A good team player with strong communication skills. Good PC literacy including Microsoft software skills, excel, power point, etc. Previous automotive or aerospace experience. Engineering related degree Effective communication, influencing and team working skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of mounting systems and associated components preferable. Experience in managing a varied workload across numerous programmes. Experience of releasing parts with robust design verification sign off. A working knowledge of FMA Quality tools, and PCS. Proven problem solving skills - use of DMAIC tools preferable Use of WERS, AIMS and other engineering delivery systems preferred.
