The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
A CMS Project Engineer will have direct responsibility for powertrain mounting component design and delivery. These include structural castings and crossmembers.

Key requirements of job role:
- Agree component/system targets (stiffness, strength, etc) with CAE team and attribute areas
- Develop component CAD with Company CAD designers within available package to meet component targets for function, cost and weight
- Work with purchase team to manage supplier nomination process
- Manage supplier delivery of components to agreed cost, timing and quality targets
- Achieve all program milestone engineering deliverables

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Strong communication/teamworking/project management skills
- Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
- PC (MS Office) literacy
- Robust practical knowledge of engineering principles
- Automotive engineering design/development Track record of successful project management and on time delivery
- HNC/D or equivalent automotive experience in the above field.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Failure Mode Avoidance Quality tools
- Design experience of cast/forged/fabricated steel or aluminum components
- Working knowledge of Teamcentre
- A working knowledge of Product Creation System (PCS)
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
