The Role:
To perform as contract engineer(s) on Upgrade Project. The Upgrade Project includes the upgrade or replacement of certain existing municipal “Utility Systems” within the site in Kazakhstan.

The site is an expansive Contractor base camp and industrial base including accommodations for up to 7,000 Contractor personnel, light fabrication facilities and related industrial activities supporting various client projects.

The Upgrade Project “Utility Systems” include the following:
•Potable Water Treatment Plant
•Potable / Fire Water Storage and Distribution Systems
•10kV Electrical Distribution Systems
•Roads Reconstruction
•Integrated Public Services Facility (Police, Fire, Akimat)

The successful Candidate will demonstrate the skill, ability and experience to support developing the Upgrade Project concepts, scoping and engineering design and analysis products of civil / mechanical municipal utility water systems. The position will report to the Upgrade Project Engineering Manager and will initially be located in Atyrau, Kazakhstan with relocation to Site during the construction phase of the Project.

The Candidates applicable engineering design experience will include:
•Design of: Municipal Potable / Fire water distribution systems and networks.

•Design of: Municipal Pumping and Distribution systems:
oDemand, Flow, Volume Calculations
oPump Station / Systems; Distribution Networks
oTechnical / Materials Procurement Specifications

•Design of: Sewage Collection systems:
oLift / Pumping Stations; Demand, Flow Volume Calculations
oGravity / Force-main Collection systems
oCollection basins, wells and related systems.
oTechnical / Materials Procurement Specifications

•Potable Water Treatment Plant systems:
oConcepts / Configurations
oDesign, Operating and Maintenance Considerations
oTechnical / Materials Procurement Specifications

•Civil / Soils Design Experience

•Urban Planning

We are seeking a Candidate who can:
•Develop: System concepts – including “Work Breakdown Structure” (WBS) planning – sketches and schematics; then oversee and manage the development of detailed design and construction drawings.
•Perform: Basic calculations – water demand / flow, pipe and pump sizing, electric loads, etc.
•Prepare: Technical / Material Procurement Specifications and supporting documents.
•Write: Complete and comprehensive technical communications, documents, summaries and reports.
•Own: Assume “Ownership” of major and daily Project tasks – through successful product delivery.
•Mentor: Mentor and guide junior project staff – including Kazakh National engineers, drafters and technicians – in the application of basic engineering discipline, technical methods and form.
•Support: The Project with your professional experience, guidance and opinion.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a recognized, accredited, University or Technical College.
•10 or more years of demonstrated experience in the engineering design fields generally described above.
