Project Engineer (Coating)

The Role:
General
• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations,
• Provide exemplary leadership to the contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,
• Ensure the line-pipe coating contractor(s) has a competent organisation and a high standard of resources in-place to successfully execute the work,
• Manage the contractor project execution performance and scope delivery,
• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the construction team and the contractors,
• Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the , Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change,
• Maintain close contact with the client Project Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to project and implemented as appropriate,
• Responsible for ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared
• Responsible for the co-ordination and close out of site raised STQs, DVRs and NCRs

Management of Pipe Coating

Pipe Coating
• Managing the coating works in-country to produce a high integrity product to the required schedule. Responsibilities in this area include:
• Managing the contractor’s on-site coating activity to deliver a safe efficient coating operation in accordance with the technical specifications and the contract schedule
• Managing the load-in of project supplied pipe and maintaining records of pipe status
• Managing the integrity/preservation of the bare and coated pipe in accordance with the technical specification
• Managing the load-out of coated pipe on to the Installation Contractor’s pipe haul vessels
• Managing the client site team at the contractor’s coating plant
• Maintaining close contact with the engineering team to ensure timely approval of queries and approval of contractor documents,
• Providing support to the management and tracking of contract costs including the assessment of contractor variations, invoices and deliverables,
• Ensuring client's project management and execution practices are in place






Skill Requirements:
• Exhibits understanding of client’s MPcp engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality,
• Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects,
• Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result,
• A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills,
• Financial and commercial awareness,
• Self-motivated,
• Computer literate,

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A recognized qualification in an engineering discipline
• A minimum of 10years proven experience in site management of contractors
• Experience with site management activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues
• An awareness of line-pipe coating processes and application is an advantage but not essential
