Global Oil company with an expansive asset base reaching a key phase within current project.

The Role:
The Project Engineer Coating (Offshore Pipelines) will be a key member of the Pipelines PMT which is responsible for delivering the offshore pipeline systems in accordance with client’s Q&HSE expectations. The Project Engineer Coating will be responsible for managing the pipe coating contracts and execution of the pipe coating scope at a number of coating facilities.

• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations,
• Provide exemplary leadership to the contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,
• Provide coaching and development of direct reports,
• Ensure the line-pipe coating contractor(s) has a competent organisation and a high standard of resources in-place to successfully execute the work,
• Manage the contractor project execution performance and scope delivery,
• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to Project team expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the construction team and the contractors,
• Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the Project team, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change,
• Track and manage technical risks, drive integrity and reliability through processes such as TRAP’s, constructability reviews, FMECA’s,
• Maintain close contact with the BP Project Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to project and implemented as appropriate,
• Responsible for ensuring project lessons learned are captured and shared with the project team

• Manage the line-pipe coating scope delivery for the Export and Infield Pipelines which will include:
• Managing the coating contracts to deliver the coated pipe on schedule and within budget
• Managing the coating contractor’s project management and engineering teams,
• Managing the client site teams at contractor facilities,
• Integration with the M&SS team to ensure the development of a robust execution strategy,
• Managing the contractors engineering and procedure development to assure timely delivery of approved procedures for coating start-up
• Readiness planning & the co-ordination of pre-start assurance checklists prior to campaign execution.
• Maintaining close contact with the engineering team to ensure timely approval of queries and approval of contractor documents,
• Managing the coating works in accordance with clients’s Q&HSE expectations,
• Managing the delivery schedule including daily management during execution,
• Manage the delivery of the coated pipe in-country and facilities for load-in and load-out on to the pipe-lay contractor’s vessels
• Providing input to the M&SS integrated schedule and synergies across delivery groups,
• Managing and tracking of contract costs including the assessment of contractor variations, invoices and deliverables,
• Ensuring BP project management and execution practices in place,

• Exhibits understanding of client’s MPcp engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality,
• Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects,
• Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result,
• A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills,
• Financial and commercial awareness,
• Self-motivated,
• Computer literate,

• Demonstrates personal commitment to achieving the highest standards of HSE and responsibility for the safety and well-being of everyone around them,
• Play a leading role in the promotion of an excellent HSE culture, and demonstrate client’s commitment to achieving and maintaining the highest possible standards of HSE,

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution
• A minimum of 5years proven capability of managing significant execution contracts
• An awareness of line-pipe coating processes and application
