We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Controls & Instrumentation Specialist to join the Project Management Team, which is responsible for Capital Project Execution, from FEED till commissioning, for the widespread Saudi Aramco Oil & Gas Operation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Aramco Project Management is actively seeking a highly experienced, degree qualified engineer to work as an Instrument and Control System Lead Project Engineer. As Lead Project Engineer you will be given challenging assignments on multiple Oil and Gas Projects as well as a long-term career opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia for the world’s largest international Oil Company. Your assignment will include leading a design team of instrument and process control system engineers during the front end development, engineering design and procurement phases for all field instrumentation and process automation and safety instrumented systems. Additional responsibilities will include leading a diverse team of site engineers through all implementation phases for the installation, testing, pre-commissioning and final handover.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will develop all instrument indices to include instrument index, I/O List, instrument ranges and alarm set points and logic drawings. Assist in the design development of the P&IDs, cause and effect, control narratives, cable and cable tray layouts. Provide design assistance for the identification, selection and sizing of all field instrumentation, including control valves. Review and approve the technical bid evaluations and material requisitions for all field instrumentation, including control valves. Conduct SIL study and participate in joint discipline HAZOP review. Perform other design or feasibility studies as required. Conduct Factory and Integrated Factory Acceptance Tests for all process automation system equipment. Conduct Site and Integrated Site Acceptance Tests for all process automation system equipment. Lead site instrument loop and functional testing for all field instrumentation, to include package instrumentation for all equipment skids, rotating equipment, vessels, tanks, etc. Lead all site process automation system and instrumentation construction and pre-commissioning activities. Resolve technical queries related to construction or testing on a timely basis and support end user commissioning activities as required. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all project team members, technical personnel, interface and support organizations, and end users. Candidates must be prepared to mentor less experienced engineers. Coordinate with all involved organizations, conduct all design review and construction progress meetings related to the process automation system and field instrumentation. Provide technical support for project management activities through the entire project life cycle. Be responsible for scope, change control, cost, schedule, quality and safety through all phases of the project within your assigned area.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (Control Systems, Chemical or Electrical) is essential, with preference given to those possessing a Master’s degree. A minimum 15 years post-graduate working experience in a process automation system lead role position with both project engineering and execution background. Background shall include hands on experience with major Safety Instrumented System and Process Automation System Solution Providers, as well as experience with both HART and Foundation Field Bus communication protocols. Background in Oil and Gas, Refining or Petrochemical projects preferred. Proficient in the English language and possess both excellent oral and technical writing skills. Working knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation INTOOLs and all standard MS Office PC applications. Preference will be given to those possessing any or all of the following certifications: Registered PE, PEng or equivalent, PMP, CAP or TUV FSE.
