Project Engineer (Drainage and Highways)
Location - Borough Hall (Bedford)
The BBC Engineering Service Team require this Project Manager role to assist with the delivery of additional works returning in-house following the end of the Amey Contract.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Role Requirements Project Engineer - Civil Engineering: Bedford Borough Council requires a Project Engineer to carry out inspection, design and measurement of carriageway, footway works, and drainage works within the Borough. The candidate should have experience in using the specification for highway works, the production of drawings, assessment of drainage works, footway works and carriageway works including patching and resurfacing, the preparation of bills of quantities, site measurement, writing specifications, experience in agreeing final accounts and a knowledge of the CDM Regulations and other relevant Health and Safety legislation. The candidate should be able to work with limited supervision and posses a CSCS card. The candidate must have experience in the design of traffic and safety schemes and writing reports.
* Candidate must possess a CSCS card Commonsense, experienced highways engineer.
* Highway drainage experience.
* Local Government or consultancy background.
* Min 5 years experience in highways design
