The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Project Engineer, with a Drilling and/or Completions background, for a one year opportunity with their Wells Engineering group. The position will be based in West Houston.

The Role:
• Develop and maintain standards on Drilling, Completion, and Intervention well operations planning aligned with New Wells Common Process including subject matter such as project scoping, cost estimation, risk management, basis of design, document control, project assessments, multi-disciplinary planning, project reviews, field operations engagement, and knowledge management.

• Network with Functional and Regional Wells point contacts and to appraise and gather current standards, solicit feedback on best practice, develop standards, solicit support, develop implementation plans, and provide training on new standards.

• Integrate new standards into Wells Common Process (e.g. well reliability, well integrity)

• Review and revise the Wells Common Process manual and integrate with other Common Processes, Practices and Operating Management System.

• Update content in Wells Common Process website and keep toolkit current with global standards, global templates, and best practices.

• Provide training and coaching on Wells Common Process to the Wells Community

• Assist in engineering practice technical document development

• Prepare project status updates and presentations to summarize work and present recommendations.

Drilling or Completion Engineer with experience and a passion for project management and standardization, or a Project Manager with experience in standardization projects and with knowledge of well operations.

Experience on a variety of well projects is preferred.

Ability to standardize and simplify complex processes
Detail analysis and ranking skills
Self-starter and pro-active
IT software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint - intermediate to advanced user
IT software: Website experience is preferred.
