The Role:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Management of all day-to-day aspects of assigned projects and modifications with the aim of safe completion within the agreed budget, schedule, and statement of requirements
•Ensure all technical aspects of the projects are delivered in a competent, safe and efficient manner
•Ensure that Safety Procedures are implemented and respected
•Ensure multi-discipline projects are managed competently, minimising cost and optimising company/contractor labour force, while ensuring safety and environmental issues are paramount
•Ensure communication channels with management are maintained at all levels and that operational difficulties are addressed by the relevant expertise, with early anticipation and timely resolution of issues.


MAIN ACTIVITIES:

•Responsible for day-to-day management of the assigned project(s)
•Participate in all aspects of cost control for each assigned project
•Ensure accurate plans/schedules are available and regularly updated for each assigned project
•Participe in all aspects of the Project Risk Management process for each assigned project
•Provide guidance and advice to project and contractor personnel, ensuring project milestones are achieved and that project contracts are managed cost-effectively and efficiently
•Ensure employees and contracted staff under job-holder’s control are properly supervised and have been instructed and trained in the specific site regulations, the relevant systems of work and the actions required in the event of an emergency
•Ensure that a Statement of Requirements or Scope Of Work exists for each project and that changes are approved as per Company Procedure. Deliver Projects in accordance with the SOR, to the agreed timescale and budget. Assist with the development of the technical Scope of Work
•Participate in pre-contract award clarifications and technical evaluations and recommendations including EXCOM and Contract Management Committee presentations.
•Participate in the assessment and challenge of contractors’ estimates.
•Provide input into annual budgets / forecasts and Long Term Plans as required
•Manage all assigned projects in accordance with contractual requirements in areas such as safety, technical requirements, cost, planning, etc and in a manner that enables a high level of value to be created
•Pro-actively liaise with Technology, Operations, HSE, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Vendors and certifying agency teams on all aspects of the project
•Manage and co-ordinate the various engineering suppliers, vendors and contractors in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained, whilst developing an effective and constructive relationship with their representatives
•Responsible for technical aspects of the project, from feasibility engineering to handover, and accept responsibility for actions
•Prepare and present technical dossiers and control and approve, when appropriate, specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, arrangements and Cause and Effect charts etc
•Ensure that procedures and guidelines are followed and applied in accordance with the latest edition
•Obtain validation of the design and call for PTR 2, 3 & 4 as applicable
•Prepare or manage authorities applications for authorisations and consents
•Positively represent the Company at any external location
•Report to the Project Manager and anticipate and inform of any potential problems in a pro-active manner
•Liaise with Operations, ensuring work programmes are developed and prioritisation of tasks is agreed.
•Assist if required with the preparation of the pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up activities. Ensure commissioning activities are anticipated and the interface with Operations is managed.
•Ensure handover documentation for projects are approved by the final customer (Operations) and that as-built documentation is closed out effectively

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in an appropriate technical discipline
•Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
•Appropriate experience in Project Engineering/oil and gas operations
•Project management experience (planning, cost control, contracting)
•Knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering/technology/project management / HSE
•Knowledge of oil & gas facilities design, construction and operation with North Sea offshore experience.
•Ability to represent the Company both internally and externally
