The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
GTDS Project leader. Research and development Engineer within Electrical Engineering department, supporting the development of the next generation communication network architecture. The successful applicant will lead a Global Technology Development System (GTDS) project team. This project will research the key technologies associated with the next generation of Networks, Hardware platforms, and Software platforms to be used in the clients vehicles. Candidate shall specify and lead projects to compare and validate these technologies against the clients technical and commercial requirements and constraints, including engaging with suppliers to deliver technical demonstrators to verify the technologies meet all stakeholders needs.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Systems engineering Excellent project management and organisation skills, leading projects and teams of experts. Excellent communication skills, written, oral and formal report writing. Commercial awareness and ability to build business case for new technology. FMEA Specific technical skills shall include some or all of the following: Electrical hardware architecture design , ECU power supply design, ECU load management, microcontroller selection, network physical layer design. Communication network architecture design, communication protocol design, analysis and comparison of network designs, in-vehicle network communication matrix design, network management, network gateway design.
Proven project delivery and team leadership experience. Working with suppliers, developing robust RFQs and SOWs. Prior experience running new technology design projects Proven experience of operating in cross industry working groups, and of effective communication with technical peers and senior managemen

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of Intellectual Property and Patent processes. Knowledge of functional safety processes. Technical knowledge and understanding of Jaguarthe clinets networks and ""EuCD"" electrical architecture. Technical knowledge and understanding of AUTOSAR software platform, Ethernet protocol stacks including IP and AVB Technical knowledge and understanding of Automotive ECU hardware design.
Experience of the the clients GTDS or Milestone process including knowledge of GTDS gateways, deliverables and governance Knowledge of service and manufacturing electrical test processes.
