The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position is Car Configuration Engineer. Key responsibilities are:
Maintain Car Configuration File (CCF) rulesets to support vehicle production in all plants
Plan CCF changes against overall ruleset release timing plan
Maintain metrics for CCF eTracker completion against vehicle build phases and change points
Maintain CCF parameter lists and specifications
Develop and implement improved Processes and Standards for CCF
Support CCF transformation and prevent recurrence projects
Build and maintain excellent working relationships with VCATS team and function owners Support other Networks Team functions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the whole vehicle, the relationships between different features and functions, and vehicle electrical systems.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
Strong negotiation skills, ability to build relationships across all functions, good communication skills, be self motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
Candidates must have experience of working with vehicle electrical systems including test and fault investigation.
Candidates should be ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of Product Definition and Minor Feature Codes
An understanding of vehicle build processes, and end of line configuration and test
An understanding of electrical integration concepts such as diagnostics and SWDL
Experience of releasing software or components is desirable UK Driving license is preferential.
Experience of working within the Automotive industry or similar Manufacturing or Engineering sector on complex products and configuration is desirable.
