The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This position will be in support of the JLR software quality process, a key business need as the quantity and interdependency of software in the vehicle increases. There will be an opportunity to contribute to improvements in this process and engage in technical activities to support the delivery of software to the programme teams. Key tasks will be: - Development and maintenance of Software Quality Data - Discussion with suppliers to understand responses to the JLR SW quality process - Tracking and analysis of software failures reported in development process - Technical support to program teams when software quality issues with suppliers arise - Support to the introduction of Free and Open Source Software to the vehicle

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate must have delivery skills in the following areas: - Software Engineering - Embedded programming experience using C - Delivery of software projects against a SW quality process - Good presentation and negotiation skills - Ability to work on their own or in teams managing work package delivery.
The candidate will have experience of embedded software development according to a recognised SW development process, e.g CMMI or Automotive SPICE. They should be able to provide evidence of how they have used this process to develop software and provide describe how this process has supported software quality. In addition experience of dealing with customers or suppliers at a technical level is also required.
The candidate shall be qualified to at least degree level

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Model based software development experience Use of or contribution to open source projects.
Automotive experience A knowledge of open source software development Project management skills Software test Model Based software development Development of training material and support of less experienced staff where applicable
