The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role will report to the 'Group Leader Lighting and BCM Systems' within the Electrical, Electronic & Software Engineering CoC. The role of the team is to deliver a robust lighting system within the PCD timescales and delivery gateway structure whilst meeting all specifications and stakeholder requirements. The successful applicant (s) will need a strong desire to succeed and be willing to draw together many stakeholders to ensure a common goal is established and met. The successful candidate will also need to be willing to work with future technologies and strategies with an aim to increase the system capability whilst providing a cost effective solution. The role requires a high level of technical competence and project management thus the candidate will be expected to demonstrate capability in both areas.

The role is to provide Technical support and guidance to the non Electrical CoC's, supporting all Vehicle programmes, in addition to: -
* Ensuring all projects are managed via a detailed work plan with a clear tracking mechanism.
* Ensuring the project deliverables are met on time and quality within cost and weight targets escalating risks with a clear and measured approach.
* Ensuring a clear meeting structure, cadence, reporting formats and escalation method uniformly applied.
* Supporting Design, release and delivery of ECU's
* Developing the key relationships with the key interfaces (e.g. Body Team, BCM Team, APC, Manufacturing etc.)
* Develop strong relationship with the suppliers to ensure efficient delivery, in terms of cost, weight, quality and timing.
* Managing projects and systems within PCDS discipline.
* Support the development of System processes and testing methods.
* Ensuring all quality processes are employed to drive in best in class r/1000 at launch.

Additional responsibilities include management of project deliverables within the section. These include managing and monitoring feature functionality requirements, specifications, costs, weight etc. as well as many processes such as AIMS, WERS, RMDV, PAC, ECR, DT Database. Where required leading specific cross functional problem solving activities by using quality documentation such as FMEA, 5/8D and Fishbone Diagrams etc.

Experience Required:
A robust understanding of Electronics and electrical systems. Experience in Electrical system testing. Experience with vehicle networks such as CAN/LIN. Ideally Degree qualified in Electronics/Software or Automotive Subject. Any project management qualifications advantageous.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Technical competence in electrical system development. Experience in electrical system test and issue investigation/resolution. Proven ability to influence and/or manage people. Experience in project management. Candidate must have a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines. Ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives. Experience of working with suppliers of complex commodities. Managing and leveraging maximum support from Supply base to achieve programme objectives. An in-depth understanding of PCDS. An ability to work independently and to prioritise will be required. Good verbal and written communication skills required to communicate at all levels. Knowledge of failure mode avoidance tools / Problem solving tools. Experience of specifying/verifying automotive electrical commodities. Knowledge of toolsets and processes - GPDS, eFDVS, RMDV, AIMS, WERS. Knowledge of Vehicle Multiplex systems - CAN, LIN and associated analysis tools Knowledge
