The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Manage Electrical System delivery (hardware and software) across all JLR vehicle lines. - Liaise with other Electrical areas to ensure robust delivery of the electrical system. Ensure requirements on other systems are clearly cascaded and that timing plans are in place to support the system development and delivery. - Develop and undertake robust DVM/DVP for electrical system validation including HIL and vehicle tests. - Coordinate system design validation and test reports. - Support joint investigations of all issues; in vehicle, HIL, prototype build, AIMS, FMS. - Take responsibility and drive resolution of issues. - Identification of potential roadblocks or delays, negotiate countermeasure and, if delay is unavoidable, ensure any delay is minimized and effectively communicate with customers and stakeholders to ensure that any change to timing or resource is agreed by all. - Supplier management to ensure smooth, on-time delivery of agreed project outputs including review of the deliverables against project objectives. - Stakeholder / Customer management through appropriate review channels to ensure that project deliverables meet expected quality, format, content and targets. Manage efficiently any arising conflicts. - Organize and chair technical reviews with technical experts from both JLR and supplier side

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of system engineering principles - Knowledge of SW architecture automotive concepts and software development and integration processes - Development project experience (PCS, project management, etc.) - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Capability to assess the task and plan onward accordingly.

Experience in automotive system / software engineering (Automotive OEM or Tier1) - Experience in project management for software delivery - Experience in Battery Management System or comparable complex / safety relevant systems - Programming experience in tools such as C++ / MatLab / Simulink - Suppliers management - Root cause analysis / 5Y / Fishbone, AIMS updates, SW issue list updates, Testing / data gathering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Highly disciplined, analytical and self-committed. - Driven by passion for the automotive product - Previous experience of working within a cross functional team, effective team leadership skills

Requirements capture and management using DOORS - Familiarity with system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL etc.)
