The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be supporting the early roll out of optimized repairs to our dealer network. The role will involve liaising with the Design for Service Engineers to ensure sourcing , specs and engineering sign off has been validated , and follow up with actual roll out to the markets. The core objective of the team being to ensure the design and sourcing of Electrical parts ( mainly, power supply systems, ECUs, Infotainment units and instrument clusters) is optimized for remanufacturing, lower level assemblies, efficient diagnostics and repair procedures; using the learning gained from current warranty issues. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to demonstrate significant and quantifiable multi-million pounds benefits to the business and further strengthen the business case for this strategy to be rolled out across the entire organisation. Key responsibilities Support Reman roll out activities including core collection and stock management: Application of surcharges to maximise 'worn core' recovery. Managing stocks and flow of core to identify shortfalls or excesses. Pre-empt core shortages by putting in place additional core recovery activity if required or sanction scrapping of core to optimise core storage and processing costs. Control the introduction of 'genuine' reman products through long term planning process. Sustainability - ensure product is sustainable and meets corporate sustainability targets. Support Pricing function on miscellaneous pricing and cataloguing tasks. Monitor quality of the Reman range. Support the quality teams with supplier reviews. Schedule and conduct field action/stop shipment reviews in cases of supplier responsible concerns. Ensure continuous learning by carrying out prevent recurrence (Forward model) activities in order to address systemic Reman quality issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Demonstrable leadership skills High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. Have a high degree of knowledge in business case preparation. Good Project Management skills. Have good analytical skills. High interpersonal and presentational skills are essential as the role entails liaising with different departments/suppliers. Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure. Experience/ working knowledge of automotive electrical components would be a significant advantage. Prior field service engineering experience is preferred Good understanding of quality and reliability disciplines ( Process mapping, FMEA, Hazard plots etc.) The individual must be PC literate (with good MS Excel, PowerPoint.) Be educated to degree level. Electrical engineering qualification desirable.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Support LLA roll out activities: Analyse incoming warranty data to identify opportunities. Ensure early and effective roll out of LLAs in the markets. Support roll out of Design for efficient diagnostics and repair procedures : Analyse incoming warranty data to identify prevent recurrence opportunities with regards to dealer diagnostics and Standard Repair Operations. Ensure early adoption of optimized dealer diagnostics and Standard Repair Op. A good understanding of the automotive PCDS process (GPDS, DVP, Gateway disciplines etc.) would be advantageous. Experience in using the Minitab Statistical Software package desirable. Six Sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt trained or certified.
