The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Engineer To Order (ETO) is an expanding department within the client, which is responsible for the delivery of Performance (RS), Luxury (Ultimate) and Limited Edition variants across the model range as well as all Accessory product offerings. The client believes that prevention is better than cure and so it invests heavily throughout its new vehicle programmes in Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) activities. Ensuring that Failure Modes are captured at the design stage and eradicated from the vehicles. The role, working within the existing ETO Forward Model Quality (FMQ) team, is to :- - Support the ETO Engineering team in their delivery of all FMA activities across all ETO programmes. - Generate and agree with ETO Engineering Managers the FMA plans for each programme. - Keep the FMA plans up to date throughout the programme to provide reporting data to Senior Management. - Carry out data trawls on the Analytical Warranty System (AWS) to capture previous in-service failure modes on existing components. - Generate and Maintain Quality History Sheets (QHS) using AWS and other in-service data. - Review QHS's with Engineers to develop countermeasures to known failure modes. - Assist the Engineers with the development of Boundary Diagrams, Interface Matrices and Design FMEA's. - Ensure that robust prevention actions and detection events are in place against all DFMEA failure mode items in order to ensure that these failure modes are not carried through into service

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with a broad Engineering background, with extensive experience in writing DFMEA's and successfully taking products from concept through to delivery. Ideally with previous Quality experience. Extensive DFMEA experience as a lead member of the team. Fully versant in MS Office applications. Access experience would be an advantage. Ability to take the lead on Quality issues and drive the Engineering team to a resolution.
A breadth of Engineering experience with previous responsibility for compiling/managing DFMEA's.
Candidates applying would ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering or Quality discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Working knowledge of AWS, PAWS. 6 Sigma Green/Black Belt trained. Experienced in using the standard Quality Tools, e.g. 8D, 6 panels, fishbone diagrams, pareto, etc.
