The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As a Project Engineer within the Engineered-To-Order (ETO) Division you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the successful development, testing and introduction of new systems and components across a number of our new and exciting vehicle programmes. Project Engineers are required within the following engineering areas of the ETO division: Accessories, Chassis, Body Exterior, Body Interior. You will need to work closely with other departments and functions, as well as with a wide range of external companies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of engineering principles relevant to the design, development, testing and manufacture of products within one of the following automotive areas: vehicle accessories, vehicle exteriors, vehicle interiors, chassis, vehicle integration and testing. Excellent knowledge of systems and tools used to develop engineering solutions eg CAD, CAE, FMEA, DFA. Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills essential to liaising with a number of internal and external parties, and taking a leading role in coordinating a wide range of work tasks. PC Fluent (Email, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
2 years experience of working in a technical role within the engineering sector.
It is anticipated candidates with be educated to Degree Level, or HNC/ HND with significant experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products. Excellent knowledge of product development systems used in the automotive industry. Excellent knowledge of quality tools used in industrial applications eg. DVP, FMEA, DFA, Robustness Working knowledge of issue tracking and release systems eg. BOM, AIMS, WERS Knowledge of vehicle homologation requirements Working knowledge of project planning tools eg MS Project Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly tooling methods and lead-times. Good working knowledge of materials used in modern vehicles ( eg. synthetic textiles, leather, veneers, plastics, metals, composites, foils and paint). Working knowledge of product costing and pricing methods.
Experience of working within the automotive industry in a similar role, either for an OEM or within the supply base.
