The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This is a pivotal role in which your recognised expertise will see you working closely with a range of parties including Advanced Product Creation, Engineering Group/Module Leaders, Design/Component Engineers and Purchasing teams where you'll influence the direction of Test and CAD/CAE activities on all D&D activities.
This will also include full integration with suppliers worldwide with the aim of communicating the role of the team at supplier bases and conducting VFM projects through to fruition in order to meet the targets as defined by the Group Engineering Director.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
1. Leading two teams to ensure deadlines and department objectives are met
2. Management of the delivery of cost savings without any disruption to program quality or timing
3. Ownership of metrics and monthly reports
4. Responsible for the development of business processes that will continue to move both departments forward and minimise ED&T expenditure in Test and CAD/CAE activities
5. Provide guidance and direction to all PD CoC engineers with ED&T requirements
6. Lead strategic discussions regarding component test and CAD/CAE requirements
7. Lead discussions with staff up to and including Director level
8. Lead cost discussions with test sites and component suppliers
Will be required to Travel both in the UK and abroad Gaydon And Whitley (travel to other uk sites when required)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to lead a team, Strong organisational and numerical skills, Good meeting leadership & influencing, High drive, self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision, Excellent communication and presentation skills and able to communicate confidently at all levels within the business and external suppliers, Excellent PC Skills including Microsoft Office
Team leadership experience, Must demonstrate ability to deliver excellent and successful results whilst meeting tight deadlines
Should have Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering, Previous experience of working within a component/vehicle test or CAD/CAE environment Experience of working with Teir 1 suppliers Experience with systems and processes
Degree preferred but not essential
