The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Provide expertise to influence key CAE process improvement strategies: e.g. utilising sensitivity, robustness, correlation techniques, benchmarking and verification methods. In particular you will research, define and implement a general solver strategy for the FE CAE community to reduce the number of codes used in the business.
You will liaise directly with the key CAE areas of the business to understand technical requirements, collate them and work with the CoCs and software vendor support engineers to deliver a general solver strategy.
You will lead testing of all aspects of the strategy implementation with the selected strategic partner to ensure a smooth implementation and that all requirements are met in a timely fashion.
Provide support in introducing concept CAE methods and processes at the pre-programme stages of vehicle programmes
Identify future CAE capability requirements to support business priorities and new product requirements
Provide support in the development of metrics to monitor the growth in CAE capability
The role will also include supporting the simulation strategy and tools team in developing and leading a number of other strategy workstreams, including the propagation of virtual methods into AME

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Extensive experience in structural analysis with significant exposure to Abaqus, Nastran and OptiStruct.
Time spent as a CAE practitioner, including model build, meshing and structural analysis of complex problems.
High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Degree in an Engineering or related discipline
A good understanding of MS Office suite tools is essential.
