The Company:
With operations across the world, our client uses innovation and technology to deliver energy to a growing world.
They are currently leading an integrated LNG Project in PNG that includes gas production and processing facilities including liquefaction and storage facilities

The Role:
As Project Engineer of Development Support Execution you will report directly to the Project Manager, providing Project Engineering expertise to the Development Support Execution Team. This specialist team will engage with the local workforce to execute various community projects that have been approved as a result of a development grant worth 120 million PGK per year (c. $57M USD). These projects are spread across the project and will be in difficult and remote environments with logistical challenges.

A primary responsibility of your role will be to provide Project Engineering support during the execution of resettlement housing commitments set out by the project and also the development and execution of other various projects in liaison with the Resettlement Implementation Team and Housing Execution Team.

The overall responsibility of the Project Engineer is to monitor the progress of various community development projects in PNG, ensuring appropriate reviews are conducted, managing change and preparing all contract correspondence related to the development support team and also the Investment Development Grant.

As Project Engineer you will be responsible for engaging discipline engineers to carry out various aspects of individual Projects and expert resources from the Project Team and functions as required for completing their work scope consistent with the Project Objectives.

Reviewing the contractor and vendor deliverables and performance will form part of your daily routine and also you will be responsible to ensure the verification of work processes are in place and procedures are followed, this includes monthly progress reporting and working closely together with the Project Manager.

An essential part of your role as Project Engineer will be to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improved performance of this essential part of the project.

As Project Engineer you will successfully engage with the Project Team and other functional resources to verify that the design and construction are consistent with project specifications and standards. This includes coordinating meetings between the Contractor and the Project Team and also informing the Project Manager of any developments or issues from the Contractor.


Other daily responsibilities will include:
- Preparing correspondence to contractor and submitting to Project Manager for approval.
- Providing technical assistance, project support and problem solving across project sites.
- Coordinating and interfacing with Contractors and other key members of the project and related authorities.
- Assisting with transitional planning and handover activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Relevant degree in an engineering field.
-Experience through multiple disciplines (i.e., engineering, construction, project management and controls activities, or comparable project-related experience).
-Experience working in a remote location and on challenging projects
