The Role:
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good inter-personal skills.
• Ability to produce written reports in English.
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications

• Role will require appointed engineer to be accommodated in a remote camp location for 5 days per week.
• Provide various project engineering support activities for the project manager, and other discipline teams. Complete special assignments outside of engineering area as requested by SCPX pipeline construction manager.
• Assist the field engineering coordinator in project planning, performance management, contractor liaison, temporary works design reviews and construction method statement reviews.
• Preparation of reports and documents as required to support the project engineering functions.
• Managing risk and other action tracking, maintaining overview of status and expediting responses.
• Act as a liaison, as required, between project manager and various national governmental and non-governmental organisations.
• Participate in assuring compliance with client and project requirements. Proactively identify and follow up on any areas of non-compliance.
• Manage the interface between the project management team and client operations.
• Monitor contractor’s implementation of plans, procedures and method statements. Undertake surveillance of the contractor’s construction activities.
• HSE participation by actively engaging the client site team and construction contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on client ’s HSE expectations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• The applicant should have a minimum of 5 years experience working on major projects within the petrochemical or oil and gas industries, including previous experience as a member of a multi-discipline engineering and construction team interfacing with design and construction contractors.
• Experience of pipeline engineering and construction projects in challenging locations would be desirable.
• Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, inclusive of demonstrating collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics.
• Familiarity with international standards which form the basis for project pipeline specifications preferred.
• Confident and energetic approach to addressing all technical issues.
• Good inter-personal skills & being a team player.
• Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy.
• English speaking & proficient in the ability to produce quality writte
