The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. Spending more than 20 years building a culture of safety and environmental stewardship that strives to achieve world-class performance, our client places the highest of priority on developing a strong safety focused culture.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to be the main engineering focal point, between site based teams which include construction, contractors, commissioning along with the site and head office engineering department.

• Champion safety-in-design expectations and human factors engineering at the site.
• Advance the resolution of site HFE (Human Factors Engineering) issues in coordination with the Site Engineering Manager (who acts as the site PET (Project Ergonomics Team) lead)
• Maintain a high focus on safety culture throughout the project by taking an active involvement in Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments and tool box talks, in addition to leading by example in all areas.

• Support to system owners, providing expertise, access and support with interpretation of the joint venture engineering data set and tools
• Monitor and, where instructed, lead efforts to address unplanned work, e.g. Construction Change Notices (CCN), prioritized by timeline and milestone targets
• Proactively identify risks to successful execution; working with CSUET System Owners to develop and execute mitigating strategies.
• Maintain project manager type oversight on nominated system(s)/areas to ensure engineering efforts of the one-engineering team are appropriately scaled, timed and directed.
• Monitor TQ input from company parties and expedite response, assuring timely response.
• Review RFI activity providing exception reporting extending to assurance of consistent technical responses across site, avoidance of orphan RFI which may arise due to battery limit constraints of the area based construction organisation (i.e. “fallen through the cracks”)
• Understanding and reporting the status of assigned systems/areas
• Act as the Site Technical Dept.’s advocate with the Area Project Managers, Chief Construction Engineers and Area Construction Engineers to encourage them to bring technical issues to the Site Engineering Team in the first instance.

• Develop a thorough understanding and stay abreast on behalf of the Site Technical Dept. of Commissioning Timelines, assist in clearing technical barriers, and coordinate with Perth Engineering to expedite engineering deliverables needed for upcoming milestones
• Stay abreast of and bring forward opportunities to optimise both cost and schedule for site works

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering Degree
• Minimum of 15 years relevant, practical experience, including experience in working with / influencing EPCM contractors in executing construction and commissioning activities
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal (English language) communications skills are essential
• Fully competent in project engineering and management
• Creative, pragmatic, open-minded thinking and can do attitude are required to facilitate solutions in the field
