The Role:
Full Job Title: Project Engineer – Technology Development & Delivery

A vacancy exists for a Project Engineer to support delivery of a our client's proprietary technology for field trials, further technology development and transition to deployment. The Project Engineer will also support the development and execution of the commercialisation strategy and its subsequent implementation.

Project Engineering Activities
• Focal point for the engineering activities: interface between suppliers/service providers and our client and also between the project and the client's assurance process.
• Responsible for collating technical aspects of Request For Proposal, proposal review and contract finalization. Tasks include: preparing Scope of Work and Scope of Requirements, running progress meetings, ensure QA/QC and factory acceptance testing undertaken, and any management of change and engineering documented and registered with the client.
• Ensure equipment delivered in a timely manner to required locations.
• Support specialist petroleum engineering activities and work closely with the Technology Lead.
• Work with Intellectual Asset Management & Technology Commercialisation representative on IP protection.
• Safety leadership, including responsible for supplier and service provider safety audits and organizing HAZID/Operational workshop prior to the planned Field Trial for example.
• Prepare documentation required for the client's stage gate process for Define phase (Scope of Work, engineering assurance, information management).
• Contribute to both planning, execution and follow up on actions of planned System Integration Test 2012.
• Contribute to both planning, execution and follow up of planned Field Trial later in 2012.
• Prepare engineering package for hand over for the deployment phase and delivery to the deployment team.


• Project Services type activities are also required
• Work closely with SCM on contract strategy and implementation including closing out queries around renewal of existing contracts as well as for any new contracts that will be set up.
• Provide documentation for regular updates on Project progress to the management team
• Responsible for identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Be responsible for update, tracking and driving the project schedule (MS Project).
• Be responsible for in-year budget tracking of spend, and report actual spend and forecasted spend to the Financial Team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Candidate should have a degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering (or an equivalent engineering degree or qualification with relevant experience). Equally, he/she will have proficient experience, in all aspects of general project engineering and management tasks. It is important that the individual has:

• Experienced in the Define and Execute phases of projects.
• Detailed working knowledge of project engineering and project services processes.
• Working experience of stage gate assurance processes and implementation of an engineering assurance process.
• Track record in successful delivery through working closely within a small team.
• Collaborative working style, highly effective team working, networking and communicating.
• Contract negotiations and managing suppliers and service providers
• Excellent written and oral communications.
• Basic Computer packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project)

­Experience with both planning and

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
­ Familiarity with well interventions and Artificial Lift methods.
­ An understanding of wireline logging operations would be a benefit.
­ Experience with field trials.
­ Professional engineering qualification or license preferred.
