The Company:
Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
Purpose: Provide detailed project engineering support for front end loading (FEL) engineering activities associated with planning the safe execution of multiple pipeline projects and electrical generator replacement.

Position Description: The Project Engineer is expected to collaborate with representatives of other companies, departments, and disciplines in order to support the detailed scope development efforts associated with front end loading (FEL) activities for potential facilities and pipeline development projects on the North Slope.

Start Date: Immediately Duration: 18-20 months

Travel: The Project Engineer position is expected to spend 4 to 8 days on the North Slope per month.

Responsibilities
• Support the Company Zero Incident Culture.
• Refine preliminary design concepts as required to further define the scope of potential developments.
• Work with Operations, Drilling, Company Engineering, and other stakeholders to identify and document opportunities to improve upon existing drill sites.
• Work with Operations, Drilling, Company Engineering, and other stakeholders to prepare conceptual drill site layouts that minimize potential sim-ops issues.
• Facilitate the prioritization and integration of technical, operational, maintenance, construction, and drilling requirements into an acceptable scope for potential new drill sites.
• Provide technical support to the development of facility cost estimates.
• Support the work scope definition for technical studies.
• Coordinate technical studies.
• Ensure that technical studies performed by others are completed on time.
• Support the integrated planning and scheduling of engineering, procurement, construction, drilling, and other activities associated potential drill site developments.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Understanding of project scheduling and management concepts.
• Understanding of technical discipline engineering such as process engineering, piping design, instrument and electrical design.
• Understanding of North Slope specific constructability issues, operational concerns, and maintenance requirements.
• Background in facility design, facilities operations, or construction work.
• Ability to work closely with engineering contractors, construction organization, operations, maintenance, drilling, and petroleum engineering groups.
• Firm understanding of business objectives with a desire to develop good projects through the application of engineering and project management techniques.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to resolve barriers to progress that arise on a daily basis.
• Ability to follow written project procedures should be accompanied by open thinking and willingness to challenge accepted

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications
• PMP Certification.
• 5+ years project related experience.
• 5+ years experience in North Slope oil and gas industry capital projects.
